Full Time, Day Shift for Hospital Setting
Supports the administration of the radiation safety program, including compliance of with all regulating and certifying agencies, training staff, supervision of source ordering, handling, waste removal and disposal.
Actively particpates in developing new programs and technologies such as information management, treatment planning, and new modalities.
Performs weekly chart reviews and other checks of treatment plans.
Performs dosimetric calculations for external beam, brachytherapy and radiopharmaceutical therapy.
Provides medical physics consultation to physicians, staff, and patients as needed.
Participates in the quality assurance of linear accelerators, simulators, HDR units and any other radiation therapy devise.
Performs acceptance testing and commissioning of new equipment.
Assists in physics coverage of Radiation Oncology locations as directed by Chief Physicist. Provides clinical supervision of dosimetrists and medical physicist(level1).
REQUIREMENTS
5-7 years of experience required as a Medical Physicist
Masters Degree in Medical Physics
Demonstrates strong knowledge of theraputic medical physics and effective communication skills.
Demonstrates experience/knowledge of computers and networking.
Electronic knowledge and skills is preferred.
