Provides inpatient and outpatient medical and surgical services, including patient histories and physicals, treatments, medications, surgical procedures, pre operative and post operative care, etc. to patients, under the supervision of a licensed physician.
Conducts oneself in a manner which promotes quality and services excellence for patients, physicians, staff and visitors and contributes to the spirit of teamwork within the clinic.
Sees patients in a clinic setting, performing routine medical assessments and treatments.
Performs patient pre operative hospital and clinic day surgery admission histories and physicals for surgical patients.
Acts as first assistant to surgeon during surgical procedures as needed and as directed for a wide variety of surgical cases.
Provides post operative care to patients on an as necessary basis.
Dictates discharge summaries for patients medical record and for billing purposes.
Makes hospital patient visits with physician and or independently, to monitor patients current physical condition.
Occasionally conducts and coordinates patient's hospital discharge process.
Requirements: Completion of a physician assistant educational program approved by the American Medical Association. Licensure as Physician Assistant by Medical Examining Board of the State of Florida, Certification by National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
Experience: Willing to train new graduate.
Other: Ability to obtain appropriate practice privileges at area hospitals.
