This position reports to the Vice President of Patient Care Services and supervises Pharmacy and IRB personnel. Performs all relevant duties of a clinical pharmacist and is responsible for the overall daily operation and supervision of the pharmacy and related personnel. Responsible for providing quality services in an efficient manner by providing appropriate staffing, assisting in the development and implementation of new programs, policies, procedures, and protocols. Coordinates performance improvement programs, maintains appropriate levels of inventory/equipment/supplies and ensures continuing department education programs. Assures all Florida Board of Pharmacy regulatory requirements are met and serves as the consultant of record for all pharmacy operations on campus and related entities where legally applicable. Develops budgets and works within established guidelines, responsible for formulary management with the assistance of the P&T chair, coordinates the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee and actively participates in the Value Analysis Team.
Ability to work cooperatively with physicians, and all staff. Must be knowledgeable and competent in drug purchase contracting, formulary management, Pharmacy and Therapeutics committee functions and IRB activities. Ability to set priorities, make critical decisions and respond quickly to emergency requests. Ability to handle frequent interruptions and adapt to changes in workload. Ability assess situations and utilize creative problem solving techniques which result in positive outcomes. Ability to manage a diverse workforce and promote a strong team oriented approach. Effective communication skills. Ability to meet pharmaceutical care needs of all patient populations (neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, geriatric, acute care, psychiatric, oncology, obstetric, chemically dependent, rehabilitation and skilled nursing). Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.

REQUIREMENTS INCLUDE:
Graduate of an ACPE accredited school of Pharmacy with a BS or Pharm D degree
Current state licensure where practicing or pending licensure
Pharmacy Consultant License is required
Candidate must have as a minimum, Clinical Pharmacy Management experience in a level 1 or 2 trauma center. DOP experience in trauma hospital preferred.
