Responsibilities:
24-hour accountability for the management of his/her area of responsibility.
Coordinates the continuity of care consistent with unit standards and objectives.
Provides professional care and service within assigned area in accordance with established standards, institutional policy and procedures, professional judgement, and, as appropriate for assignment, nursing care plan, and physician’s treatment plan. Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the ages and culture of the patients/clients served, and ability to provide care according to departmental policies and procedures.
Serves as a professional role model guiding delivery of quality care and promoting staff participation in unit/system teams/activities.
Fosters a positive work environment.
Qualifications
EDUCATION:
Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing; BSN is highly preferred.
EXPERIENCE: 3-5 years of clinical bedside experience as an RN; minimum two years supervisory/management experience is required.
LICENSE/REGISTRATION: Current NC license in good standing issued by the North Carolina Board of Nursing is required. OTHER:
Thorough knowledge of nursing standards, principles and procedures; good interpersonal skills; computer knowledge
TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Requires full range of body motion, including handling/lifting patients, manual/finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination.
Requires corrected vision/hearing to normal range.
Requires standing/walking for extensive periods of time with bending, stooping/stretching. Frequently lift/carry patients and/or items weighing 50 lbs or more.
