Responsibilities:
24-hour accountability for the Orthopedic service line.
This position reports directly to the Senior Vice President of Patient Care and Physician Services.
Plans, directs, coordinates, implements, delegates, controls and evaluates the continuity of care consistent with departmental standards and objectives.
Supervises professional nursing care in area of responsibility.
Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the ages of the patients/clients served, and ability to monitor care according to departmental policies and procedures.
Ensures adherence to the Corporate Compliance Policy.
EDUCATION:
Graduate of an approved school of nursing, BSN preferred.
EXPERIENCE: 3-5 years clinical; management and leadership experience preferred.
LICENSE/REGISTRATION: Current NC license in good standing is required.
OTHER: Thorough knowledge of nursing standards, principles and procedures; good interpersonal skills; computer knowledge
TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Requires full range of body motion, including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination.
Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
Requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time with bending, stooping and stretching.
Requires ability to commute between facilities.
