Description:Women’s Health Director/ Labor & Delivery Must promote good public relations for the Department, while maintaining patient/customer confidentiality. Responsibilities: The Director will be responsible to assure: The necessary leadership to ensure the department and organization is in full compliance with laws, rules, and regulations and JCAHO standards Implementation of procedures that guide and support this provision of services Sufficient number of qualified and competent staff are recommended to provide services The identification of the qualifications and competence of department personnel Continuous assessment and improvement of the department's performances Appropriate quality control programs are maintained Orientation, in-service, and continuing education is provided to all persons in the department Recommendation of space and resources needed by the department Proper selection of outside sources for needed services Professional manager with 24 hour responsibility and accountability for total coordination and direction of each assigned clinical area Manages and directs quality patient care by establishing and maintaining effective communication among nursing staff and other health disciplines Promotes good public relations for the units, the nursing department demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patient served on their assigned unit as indicated by age of population served Maintains fiscal responsibility with management of departmental budgets and submitting timely financial reporting Works within the community to establish a network of all patients/customers regardless of age Qualifications: Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing; must be bachelor's prepared; masters preferred (or actively pursuing) Currently licensed in the State of Texas as a RN and in good standing Director level experience or 2-3 years manager experience Highly developed verbal and written communication skills Medical Connections has numerous positions available in a variety of Settings.
