Unit Director generally reports to the Chief Nursing Officer and is responsible for directing and coordinating the ER Department and for acting as liaison between the Hospital Administration and the staff.
Requirements:
Bachelor of Science in Nursing, Masters preferred
Two to three years management experience required
Three years of experience in a hospital or clinical experience required
Licenses / Certifications:
Registered Nurse License
BLS & ACLS required
PALS certification preferred
Duties:
Responsible for directing, coordinating, assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the patient care provided on the ER unit
Maintaining required staffing, supplies, equipment; overseeing overall operations of the unit
Act as a liaison between hospital administration and staff
Must be able to perform work according to department standards when no directions are given
Must be emotionally mature and able to function effectively under stress
Demonstrated proficiency in written and verbal communications
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with the public
